The
China Sport Information Center, affiliated to the State
Sport General Administration of China, was formed in May
2001 by merging the Sport Information Institute with the
Sport Electronic Information Center. It consists of 10 departments,
including information Research, Computer & network,
Documentation & Literature, Audio & Visual, Sporting
Games Engineering, and 115 staff. The Center owns databases
of competitive sports, sport for all, sport documents, sports
audio & visual materials and a library abounding with
sport-specialized literature. The Center is also responsible
for managing the governmental sport website.
