2022年2⽉4⽇，北京冬奥会开幕式将在国家体育场“鸟巢”举⾏。届时，运动员们将参与7个⼤项和15个分项共计109个⼩项的⻆逐。2022年3⽉4⽇，北京又将迎来约600名运动员参加北京冬季残奥会。北京将成为全球首个举办过冬夏两季奥运会和残奥会的“双奥之城”。 奥运会和残奥会是⼀场万众瞩⽬的体育盛会，也是⼀次机遇与挑战的激烈碰撞。2020年5月15日，国际奥委会、国际残奥委会和北京冬奥组委同步向社会正式发布了《北京2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会可持续性计划》，提出了“可持续·向未来”的北京冬奥会可持续性愿景，确定了“创造奥运会和地区可持续发展的新典范”的总目标。
在此背景下，北京体育⼤学和德国科隆体育⼤学联合主办的第六届中德体育发展国际学术会议将于2021年12⽉21日隆重召开。本次会议以“⼤型体育赛事和可持续发展”（Sport Mega Events and Sustainability）为主题，聚焦北京2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会。会议将由来自中德两国的六位专家进行主题演讲和⼩组讨论，从跨国视⻆集中探讨超⼤型体育赛事可持续发展相关议题。
会议由北京体育大学管理学院承办，国际交流与合作处、体育中外人文交流研究院、学术期刊社协办。
